“镭射染”能将3D动作变成独一无二的图案出现在织物上

"Laser dye" can turn the 3D motion into a unique pattern on the fabric

最近的工坊活动频次更新勤快得有点感人。不过需要注意的是,每一次我们工坊的活动内容都是不带重样的。今天说的这个,名字叫做“镭射染”(laser dye),简单来说这次工坊的内容是:你设计的动作,将转化为独一无二的图案通过机器呈现在布料上!是不是觉得很不可思议,3D的动作居然能变成2D平面的图案?是的!而且动作不同,我们所得到的图案纹路也会不一样!

The recent workshops have been updated a bit quickly,right? However, did you note that each content of our workshopis different.Today we are going to talk about "laser dye." In short, this workshop is about transforming your designed actions into unique patterns on cloth by machines.Isn't it amazing to see 3D action turn into 2D pattern? Guess so! The patterns will vary from action!

现在需要敲黑板注意啦,为了帮助大家能更好的理解这个课程,我们先解释两个关键词。氰版显影与MaxMsp编程。

Notice,let's first explain two key words to help you understand this course.Cyanotype and MaxMsp.

氰版显影Cyanotype

氰版显影,以其呈现的蓝色影像而得名。

这个过程将会使用到两种化学药剂– 柠檬酸钠和铁氰化钾。

将两者加水进行混合后会得具有感光性的液体。将液体涂抹在相纸上后,相纸则会变成感光相纸。经过日光的曝晒,便能得到氰版摄影。

而我们这次课程的光学实验则是受启发于这一方式,使用接近紫外线波段的镭射光束,投影在预涂在布面上的感光剂,留下永久的图像。

Cyanotype,which gets its name from the blue image it appears.

This process needs two chemicals, sodium citrate and potassium ferricyanide.

By mixing them with water, a photosensitive liquid will be obtained. When the liquid is applied on the photographic paper, it will change into photosensitive paper.Thus,Cyanogen photography can be obtained by sun exposure.

The optical experiment of our course was inspired by this method. The laser beam,which similar to the ultraviolet band was projected on the cloth that precoated with photosensitizer, leaving a permanent image.

MaxMsp

MaxMsp是一款可视化编程语言,它让你不用写代码就可以创建复杂的交互程序。

MaxMsp由几个部份组成-“Max”负责基础操作系统和MIDI。“Msp”负责信号处理和声音。

通过这个创意编程以及摄像头的识别,我们可以将特定的动作变化为声音。

而在这次的课程中,我们会教大家怎么把现实世界的物体融入到MaxMsp作品中。之后我们的声音作品会经由类似黑胶唱片的装置进行播放,播放轨迹则会被镭射光束记录在织品上。

MaxMsp is a visual programming language that allows you to create complex interactive programs without writing code.

MaxMsp consists of - “Max”is responsible for the basic operating system and MIDI. And “Msp”is responsible for signal processing and sound.

With this creative programming and camera recognition, we can change specific actions into sounds.

We will teach you how to integrate the objects of real world into works of MaxMsp in this course,and then our sound works will be played by a device similar to vinyl records.The play track will be recorded on the fabric by laser beam.

所以明白了吗?这一次的工坊活动,你不仅会学到摄影中的古典印相法,会学到MaxMsp创意编程,最后还会得到带着独一无二图案的衣服,鞋子,帆布袋,布料(工坊的活动现场会提供布料,尺寸为30*30cm,如果大家希望将图案印刷在衣服,鞋子,包袋上,需要自备材料)

In this workshop activity,you will not only learn the classic printing method in photography,and MaxMsp creative programming,but also get clothes, shoes, canvas bags, cloth with unique pattern.

we will provide you with material,size:30*30cm. If you want print patterns on clothes, shoes, bags,please bring materials yourself.

台湾新媒体艺术家 材料研究者

Taiwan new media artist, materials researcher

1982年生,早期作品多使用电子零件DIY、声音为主要媒材,自2011年起开始专注在在智慧材料在纺织品上的应用如电路板刺绣和扫描矩阵在纺织品上的开发,他的穿戴式作品已持续在各大国际电子织品和创客平台上受到关注和邀约,例如:SXSW、E-textile Summer Camp、AdaFruit、CTM Festival。他亦大量运用镭射媒材在他的Audio Visual和氰版摄影作品中。

他亦是电子织品和民族织品合作平台Tribe Against Machine计划发起人,该计划邀请新媒体艺术工作者、人类学者和台湾泰雅部落传统工艺、文化

合作,探索新媒体做为创新社会工具的可能性。

如今他游走于西藏山区,帮助当地住民发展手工织品。

Born in 1982, whose early works mostly use DIY electronic parts and sound as his main materials. Since 2011, his company has been focusing on the application of smart materials in textiles, such as circuit board embroidery and scanning matrix in textiles. His wearable works have been attracting attention and invitation from various international electronic fabric and maker platforms.Such as SXSW,E-textile Summer Camp,AdaFruit,and CTM Festival.He also makes extensive use of laser materials in his Audio Visual and cyanotype photographs.

He’s also the founder of Tribe Against Machine, a social inovation project that invites new media artist,anthorpologist, e-textile artist to collaborate with Taiwan Atayal tribe craftsmenship techniques and culture, wish to create social inovation within modern and old.

Now he travels in the mountains of Tibet to help local residents develop handmade fabrics.
